KAKIA THALASSA
Kakia Thalassa is a coastal settlement in southeastern Attica, built in front of the beach of the same name.
The beach of Kakia Thalassa is organized, and one of the most popular in southeast Attica. On one side there is a vertical rock used for climbing. A little further east of the settlement is the homonymous monastery of the old calendars.
The myth says that Poseidon sent huge waves to destroy the ships of the barbarians who threatened the Greeks and thus the coast got the name Bad Sea.
The beautiful beach has fine pebbles outside, sand inside, blue waters and a small peninsula with a small church divides it in two. It is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, changing rooms and a canteen. Nearby is the Cave of Kitsu which is worth a walk.
